The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather warning for Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, southern Erie and Wyoming counties.

This advisory took effect at 5:09 a.m. Wednesday and will remain in place until 6 p.m.

According to the agency, snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, as well as wind gusts as high as 35 miles per hour, are expected.

"Plan on slippery road conditions," the warning stated. "Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes."
