The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed the county's 112th case of COVID-19 on Wednesday.
The latest case is a man who lives in the northeast quadrant of the county and who has no significant travel history. According to a press release from the county, the man reports being asymptomatic and denies being in contact with a known positive COVID-19 person. He was tested for COVID-19 on Monday, and his test results on Wednesday indicated he was positive for the virus.
The health department has begun thorough contact tracing investigations for persons the man has been in contact with and places he has visited.
The new case bring the department's active positive COVID-19 caseload to 12. Ninety-six county residents have recovered from COVID-19, and four have died.
