The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed two coronavirus cases Sunday, bringing the county’s total to 119, according to a press release issued by the department.
The 118th confirmed case is a man who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county, according to the press release. The man reported no significant travel history and denied having direct contact with a known COVID-19 positive individual. He was tested for COVID-19 on Thursday as part of a pre-op exam. The man, who has been asymptomatic, received his COVID-19 positive result on Saturday.
The 119th confirmed case also is a man who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county, according to the press release. The man developed a loss of taste after coming into direct contact with a known COVID-19 positive individual. The man was tested for COVID-19 on Friday; he received his positive result on Sunday.
The department has begun thorough contact tracing of both men.
There are seven active COVID-19 cases in the county; 108 residents have recovered, and four have died.
