The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 43, according to a press release issued by the department.
The 42nd case is a woman who lives in the southwest quadrant of the county. She presented a fever, chills, body aches and headaches to her medical provider Monday, according to the press release. Her provider tested her for COVID-19, and her positive result came back Tuesday.
The 43rd case is a woman who lives in the northwest quadrant of the county and has no significant travel history, according to the press release. She contacted her health provider after developing a fever, headaches, nausea and vomiting and was sent to the emergency room at Olean General Hospital on Monday, where she was tested for COVID-19. Her results on Tuesday indicated she is COVID-19 positive.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on both individuals.
