The Cattaraugus County Department of Health confirmed two additional cases of the coronavirus, bringing the county’s total to 39, according to a press release issued Saturday.
The 38th case is a man who lives in the northwest quadrant of the county, according to the press release. The man, who has a frequent work travel history to Buffalo, presented an overall unwell feeling on Monday. The man was tested for COVID-19 on Thursday because he is related to two health care workers, and his COVID-19 positive result came back on Friday.
The 39th case is a woman who is a health care worker in a Buffalo nursing home, according to the press release. The woman, who has had a dry cough but has been mostly asymptomatic, tested negative for COVID-19 on April 22. She was tested again on Thursday, and her positive test result came back on Friday.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the individuals.
