The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed two additional coronavirus cases Monday, bringing the county’s total to 90. Among that number, 12 cases are active; 74 individuals have recovered, and four people have died.
According to a press release issued by the department, the 89th confirmed case is a female health care worker who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county. She works at an Olean nursing home and was tested for COVID-19 on June 15 as part of a New York State requirement to test all nursing home employees weekly. The woman reported no significant travel history and has been asymptomatic. She received her COVID-19 positive result on Monday.
The 90th confirmed case is a woman who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county, according to the press release. The woman developed fever, stuffiness and a loss of taste. She was tested for COVID-19 on June 17, and received her COVID-19 positive result on Monday.
The department has begun thorough contact tracings on the individuals.
