The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed a 72nd case of the coronavirus Friday.
The 72nd confirmed case is a woman who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county, according to a press release issued by the department. The woman, who has been asymptomatic, came into direct contact with a known COVID-19-positive individual. She was tested for COVID-19 on Wednesday, and her COVID-19-positive result came back Thursday.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the individual.
There are 12 active cases of COVID-19 in the county; 56 individuals have recovered, and four have died.
