The Cattaraugus County Health Department confirmed two additional cases of the coronavirus Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 82, according to a press release issued by the department.
The 81st confirmed case is a man who lives in the southeast quadrant of the county and has no significant travel history, according to the press release. He developed body aches and a fever, was tested for COVID-19 on Thursday, and his COVID-19 positive result came back Monday.
The 82nd confirmed case is a man who lives in the northeast quadrant of the county, reports no significant travel history and has been asymptomatic, according to the press release. The man was tested for COVID-19 on Monday as part of a pre-op exam for an upcoming surgical procedure and received his COVID-19 positive result on Tuesday.
The department has begun a thorough contact tracing on the individuals.
There are eight active COVID-19 cases in the county; 70 residents have recovered, and four have died.
