The Cattaraugus County Department of Health confirmed its 10th case of the coronavirus Monday.
In a press release, the health department gave the following case details: A male who lives in the southeastern part of the county and has no significant travel history, was admitted to Olean General Hospital on April 3. The individual had a cough, fever, weakness and pain in his abdomen and chest.
“Chest X-ray revealed bilateral pneumonia,” according to the press release. “The patient was tested for COVID-19 upon admission, and on April 5, the results of the test indicated that he was positive for COVID-19.”
Upon discharge from Olean General Hospital, the patient will quarantine at home. The DOH will monitor his condition closely.
“The department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation for those individuals that he has been in contact with and the places that he visited,” the health department stated.
