The Cattaraugus County Department of Health has confirmed two additional cases of the coronavirus, bringing the county’s total to 33, according to a press release the department issued Thursday.
The 32nd case is a woman who lives in the northwestern part of the county. The woman, according to the press release, was potentially exposed to a COVID-19-positive person. While at a rehabilitation center in Buffalo, she developed a low-grade fever, according to the press release. She was tested for COVID-19 Wednesday, and her COVID-19 positive result came back Thursday.
The 33rd case is a man who lives in the southwestern part of the county. The man, who has no significant travel history, developed a fever, chills, cough, and shortness of breath, according to the press release. He was admitted to Olean General Hospital Monday. His COVID-19 positive result came back on Thursday.
The health department has begun a thorough contact tracing investigation of both individuals.
