PORTVILLE, NY — Portville Central School will be closed Thursday and Friday because a school district staff member has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a notice posted on the district Wednesday by Coralie McMahon, administrative assistant to the superintendent.
In a notice posted on the district website, McMahon said the district plans to return to in-person classes on Tuesday because Monday is a school holiday.
“At this point, there is no evidence that the COVID-19 transmission is occurring at school,” she said. “We will continue to practice masking, spacing and hygiene practices when we resume classes on Tuesday.”
McMahon said students are expected to join their classes online Thursday and Friday.
