CUBA, NY – Because of COVID-19 and to limit personal contact, the Cuba Police Department announced through a Facebook post yesterday that their officers will be able to take non-emergency calls via phone rather in person.
According to the post, officers may ask individuals to give them information over the phone rather than handing documents directly to them. If officers are called to a scene, individuals may be asked to speak to them outside of their homes.
The post also said that officers are increasing the use of gloves and disinfecting supplies during this time.
The department will remain available 24/7 for emergencies through the Allegany County Dispatch at 911.
