OLEAN, NY – The Olean Police Department will investigate complaints of violations of the restrictions that Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has imposed because of the Coronavirus pandemic, Chief Jeffrey L. Rowley said in an email to TAPinto Greater Olean.

“The City of Olean Police Department will not actively be seeking out violations of the restrictions issued by the governor,” Rowley wrote. “However, we will investigate complaints of such violations and notify the proper authorities if needed.”

If needed, local police will notify New York State Liquor Authority, which oversees bars, and the Cattaraugus County Health Department, which issues permits to serve food in restaurants, Rowley said.
