GREAT VALLEY, NY — An Olean woman was arrested on multiple charges Thursday.

Police said Ashley McElroy, 23, led authorities on a chase through Great Valley after deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Route 219.

According to a press release the sheriff’s office issued on Sunday, “She proceeded from Route 219 on to Hungry Hollow, back to Route 219 proceeding on to Kill Buck Road. McElroy was eventually stopped on Route 417 after spike strips were deployed with the assistance of the Salamanca Police Department."

McElroy was charged with driving while intoxicated, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, reckless driving, unlawful fleeing a police officer and multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

She was issued appearance tickets to appear in the Town of Great Valley Court at a later date.
