Jennifer M. Perkins, 35, of Olean was arrested Monday and charged with one count of attempted offering of a false instrument, two counts of attempted grand larceny and two counts of attempted welfare fraud, according to a news release from the Cattaraugus Count Sheriff’s Office.

The release indicated Perkins had fraudulently received $2,492 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program/Food Stamp benefits and $3,334.10 in Temporary Assistance benefits by failing to report essential household members and income. The arrest was a result of a complaint filed to the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services in November 2019.
