CLARKSVILLE, NY – State Police have charged William J. Larson Jr. of Clarksville with two counts of murder and two counts of manslaughter.
Larson, 17, was arrested Thursday after a manhunt that took place after two bodies were discovered in a Clarksville home. State Police are still working to identify the victims and their cause of death.
Larson was arraigned and transported to the Erie County Youth Services Center and is being held on $50,000 cash bail/$100,000 bond.
According to police, the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company responded to a structure fire at 8472 Courtney Hollow Road late Wednesday night and were met by Larson when they arrived. Firefighters contained a small fire at the residence. After discovering the two bodies, they contacted the New York State Police. Prior to police’s arrival, Larson fled the scene on foot, police said.
Police confirmed that weapons were in the residence, but could not confirm whether the two deceased people were killed by the fire.
Area school districts were contacted and acted accordingly on Thursday while authorities searched for Larson. Cuba-Rushford, Portville, Friendship and Bolivar-Richburg closed their schools while Hinsdale and Olean enforced lockouts.
