OLEAN, NY — An Olean woman was arrested Sunday and charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.

Police said Michelle Martin, 32, allegedly received $7,626 in public assistance benefits by falsifying information.

Martin was arrested at her home and arraigned in City of Olean Court, where she is scheduled to appear at a later date, according to a press release the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office issued Sunday.
