HINSDALE, NY – State Police arrested a Portville man Saturday on DWI and weapons charges.
Jarod T. Poulin, 28, was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Aggravated DWI – Child in the Vehicle, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
According to police, during a traffic stop on Main Street in Hinsdale, state troopers determined Poulin had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition with a minor child in the vehicle. Police also found an illegal dagger in the vehicle.
Police said Poulin failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested and transported to State Police Barracks in Olean, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test or a Drug Recognition Expert evaluation.
Poulin was arraigned in Olean Town Court, where he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail without bail. He is due to reappear in that court in February.
