OLEAN, NY – Police arrested two Olean residents for welfare fraud Wednesday.
Allison Robinson, 30, and Aaron Robinson, 42, fraudulently received $9,325 in food stamps by concealing and failing to report their income, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. Both were charged with third degree grand larceny, third degree welfare fraud and misuse of food stamps.
Police also charged Allison Robinson with five counts of offering a false instrument for submitting forms containing false information to the Department of Social Services.
The arrests were made following an investigation into a complaint from the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services. Both individuals turned themselves in at the Department of Social Services and were released with appearance tickets. They are due to appear in Olean City Court at a later date.
