PORTVILLE, NY — Baseball fans won’t be able to enjoy the Major League All-Star game this summer, but they can get a taste of America’s pastime by visiting the Pfeiffer Nature Center Eshelman Property at 1420 Yubadam Road in Portville this month.

The first game began July 4. A second game be start on July , and a third will begin July 18.

Visitors can take part in self-led baseball trivia contest by walking through trails at the nature center and answering questions at five stopping points, appropriately named the pitcher’s mound, first base, second base, third base and home plate.

Each stopping point has a trivia question posted on a stake. Each question is a hint to help identify one MLB Team.

At the end of the trail, hikers can call or email the nature center with their answer. Those with the correct answer will have their names placed into a drawing for a gift certificate for Grand Slam Grill.
