PORTVILLE, NY — With a victory over Skaneateles Saturday, Portville volleyball earned its third consecutive trip back to the NYSPHSAA Class C championships. Under current head coach Kelly Unverdorben, the Panthers have won four of the last five titles.

In the sweep, the Panthers were led by sophomore Kylie Blessing, who tallied 30 assists and 10 aces.

The Panthers’ quest for a fifth state title in six years will resume with “pool play” Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in Glens Falls. The Panthers will play games against Lake George, Valhalla and Pierson. The top finisher of the four teams in that pool will advance to the state championship game Sunday at noon.
