PARAMUS, NJ – A wall recognizing more than 400 donors who contributed money to a scholarship campaign last year at Bergen Community College was recently unveiled at the school’s main campus.
The donors – a combination of current and former students, faculty, staff and community members – altogether gave more than $131,000 to the Bergen Community College Foundation’s scholarship campaign.
The wall features glass lined with donor names and is located inside of the student center adjacent to the college’s main entrance at 400 Paramus Road.
Bergen Community College President Michael Redmond said it gave him “great pride to unveil” the wall because it is “a permanent reminder of the good work done” at the school.
“Long after we are gone, these scholarships will remain,” he said. “We will keep supporting Bergen students. That’s a legacy we can all be proud of.”
The $50 for 50 campaign, which took place as part of the 50thanniversary celebration last year, won first place honors among 650 colleges in the National Council on Marketing and Public Relations event/fundraising category for overall execution and excellence.
This year, more than 400 scholarships have been awarded to students, totaling over $400,000, according to the school.
