HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) hosted another successful Thanksgiving Turkey Drive to benefit local food pantries and families in need.

For the last 15 years, Bergen County PBA Local No. 134 and the BCSO Community Outreach Unit have worked together with community partners. This year, the Center for Food Action, Inserra Supermarkets, Hanyang Mart, and ESU Farms helped BCSO to collect and distribute 2,000 frozen turkeys -- 1,500 of which went to CFA and 500 to nine churches and charitable/social service organizations throughout Bergen County to help brighten the holiday season for those in need. The fundraiser surpassed its goal this year. An additional $2,000 was raised and donated.

“The holiday season is not only a time to reflect on what we are thankful for, but it is also a time to give back and help those who are less fortunate," said Sheriff Anthony Cureton. "I would like to take a moment and express my deepest appreciation to the great employees of the Bergen County Sheriff's Office for taking time out of their busy schedules to help us put this project together."
