HACKENSACK, NJ – A bus driver was ticketed for careless driving Thursday afternoon after police say he struck a utility pole while he was trying to exit the parking lot of a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Around 2 p.m., officers were called to the area of 290 Polifly Road after receiving a report that a vehicle hit a utility pole, snapping it in half and partially taking down wires, Hackensack Police Capt. Nicole Foley said in a news release.
No passengers were on the bus, which belongs to Camila Tours and Travel, a Pennsylvania-based private carrier, nor were any injuries reported to the driver, Ray Anthony Moore, 55, of New York, she said.
Moore has been issued one summons however an investigation is continuing, Foley said.
PSE&G also responded to the scene to complete repairs on the broken utility pole, which has resulted in closures on Polifly Road northbound from the Hasbrouck Heights border.
