Destructive Storm Knocks Out Power in Parts of City

HACKENSACK, NJ - A powerful Spring storm that brought lighting, thunder and even some reports of tornadoes to Northern New Jersey has caused power outages in parts of Hackensack this evening. Thirty three outages affecting 521 Hackensack customers have been reported by PSE&G's outage tracker system.

The company expects many of the outages to be repaired and power to be restores by early tomorrow morning, with estimates ranging from 3:30 a.m. at outages near Summit Avenue to 8:30 a.m. at other locations. A significant outage affecting hundreds of homes is under investigation in nearby Maywood, with no reported estimated time of restoration at this time.
