HACKENSACK, N.J. — Firefighters rushed to a business offering expertise for celebrity weddings and over-the-top events this morning to help extinguish an all-hands blaze that erupted inside the building.

The City Fire Department received a call around 5 a.m. for fire alarms that were activated at Total Entertainment, a boutique event production company whose event professionals are best known for their unique creativity using innovative resources across the country.

Apart from offering expertise for celebrity weddings and corporate productions and “over-the-top” events internationally, Total Entertainment or TE touts the provision of talent and entertainment for movie premieres, Broadway opening night parties, store openings, charity balls and more.

Upon arrival at the business’ address at 205 South Newman Street, firefighters saw that the structure’s sprinkler system had already knocked down most of the blaze — they were met with heavy smoke and small pockets of fire. Firefighters used a small service valve to help knock down additional fire. No injuries were reported.

Once companies overhauled the fire area, the Hackensack Fire Prevention began looking into its cause. It does not appear to be suspicious, Fire Captain Justin Derevyanik said.
