SOUTH HACKENSACK, NJ – Authorities are continuing to investigate the fatal stabbing of an 18-year-old South Hackensack man that occurred over the weekend.
On Saturday evening, police were dispatched to a Hoffman Street home after receiving a 911 call from its residents that a man had been stabbed, Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo said in a press release.
Upon arrival, officers found Ismael Fajardo lying unresponsive in a second floor bedroom with stab wounds to his torso, Calo said.
Fajardo was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, the prosecutor said. An autopsy confirmed his cause of death was a stab wound to the chest and heart, Calo said.
No charges have been filed at this time, according to the prosecutor’s office.
The investigation, which is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and South Hackensack Police Department, is ongoing.
