HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Mayor and Council of the City of Hackensack remind residents that there will be an Electronic Public Meeting on Tuesday, May 5, held in lieu of the regular in-person Public Meeting previously advertised for 8 p.m. on the same date. As previously announced, the hearing on the budget and tax resolution will take place at this meeting.
The Electronic Public Meeting will be at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, via the Zoom online meeting platform. The Committee of the Whole meeting “COW” scheduled for 6:00 pm is canceled, and in lieu of the same, the City Council will be holding a closed executive session at 6:30 pm. To ensure the security of the meeting and the confidentiality of the discussions, the City will not be providing access to the public for the closed executive session. No formal governmental action will be taken prior to the 8:00 pm meeting, and the City will provide an explanation for the closed executive session to the public as required.

Agenda items for the meeting will be listed in advance on the City’s website, www.hackensack.org.
City Hall is not open to the public for the meeting.
All members of the public have the opportunity to participate and comment in the meeting, both during the hearing on the budget and tax resolution as well as during the public portion of the meeting. Residents may observe and participate in the conference by using the “Zoom” online meeting platform. The Mayor and City Council are also accepting emailed public comments in advance of the meeting for those individuals who are unable to participate electronically. The comments are to be read into the record by the City Clerk. The regular three-minute limit for comments applies for any comments submitted.
