HACKENSACK, NJ -- A Hackensack resident was arrested on Friday morning by the city’s police department for possessing $2,000 worth of heroin.
29-year-old Kwame J. Collins is believed to have been dealing drugs out of his apartment on Mary Street and in other city locations, Hackensack Police Capt. Peter Busciglio said. The arrest was the result of a month long investigation.
Members of the Hackensack Police Department's Narcotics Division recovered approximately $1,400 in cash and 13 bricks of heroin with an estimated street value of $2,000 during Friday's arrest.
Collins was charged with possession and distribution of CDS and possession of paraphernalia, third and fourth degree crimes. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail and was later released under the Criminal Justice Reform Act. Busciglio said Collins has some prior adult and juvenile arrests, but this was the first major crime he was involved with Hackensack.
