HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A Hackensack woman is being recognized by PSEG for her volunteer efforts and received a $3,000 award for the Junior League of Bergen County.
Alyse Mihalik, an active member with the JLBC for the past three years, accepted the PSEG Recognizing Excellence in Volunteerism award for the JLBC to continue its commitment to developing the potential of women and improve the community through effective leadership.
Mihalik became involved in the JLBC to become a hands-on volunteer community group that serves her neighbors in need through efforts such as diaper drivers and events for senior citizens.
“Once I got involved I realized quickly it was a great group of women making an impact on the community,” Mihalik said.
Mihalik serves as the chairperson for the organization’s Done in A Day Committee. She said she is “really grateful for this grant.”
“Alyse is the type of member that we strive to have as part of our organization, using the training provided by the Junior League of Bergen County to not only give back to her community, but also to further enhance her own leadership abilities,” said JLBC President Leslie Martin-Bazzini. “We believe she is on the path to a board role in the future and look forward to supporting and enhancing her growth to further her career path within our organization through formalized training opportunities.”
PSEG issues the REV award to tts employees who are willing to dedicate their time and talent to make a difference in their communities.
