HACKENSACK, NJ - Jeff Ji had a career day, rolling a 286 game and a 725 series to lead Bergen Tech boys bowling to a 7-0 sweep on Tuesday afternoon. Ji threw the highest game for a Bergen Tech bowler in the eight years that head coach Hank Kuipers has been at the school, and was one shot away from perfection.
Ji opened the third game with 10 straight strikes, before throwing his lone bad shot of the game, crossing over the pocket and leaving a 3-4-6-10 split, which he failed to convert, “settling” for a 286.
Ji opened the day with a 204, and only got better, throwing a 235 in game two before his 286 finale. He was not, the only Bergen Tech bowler bowing well, as Joseph Wargacki threw three straight 200+ games (205-221-234) to roll a 660 series, Hunter Louie rolled a 581 series, with Enrique Ramirez throwing a 546. Daniel Kee, who rolled a 528 to open the day, finished witha 528 series
The girls team defeated Mahwah, 5-2 with Lia Huang rolling a 200 game in the opener, and following with a 247 en route to 619 series. Selena Diver rolled a 592 series (180-200-212) to finish second the day for Bergen Tech, ahead of Riana Giacone’s 561 and Rachel Lee’s 551
