ALLENDALE, NJ - Shawn Reckley had 27 and Neftali Valentin scored 22 as Hackensack trounced Northern Highlands 80-57 Tuesday afternoon in a Big North conference basketball game.  Hackensack improved its record to 9-3 with the win.  Northern Highlands, who was shut down with COVID issues earlier in the year, falls to 1-2.

Hackensack jumped out to an early 16-8 lead at the end of one quarter behind five points from Reckley.  The Comets took over in the second quarter, as Reckley and Valentin each scored eight points as Hackensack built a 43-22 lead at the half.  

Any chance for a comeback was quashed in the third quarter as Hackensack outscored Northern Highlands 26-11 to build to a 69-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Khalil Baker had seven points for the Comets, while Gio Payne chipped in six for Hackensack.

Matthew Hanrah added 12 led Northern Highlands with 12 points.
