HACKENSACK, NJ - A four-week-old infant was killed in a car crash in Hackensack on Saturday evening, according to authorities.
Around 9:15 p.m., police responded to the area of Passaic Street near De Wolf Place shortly after receiving a 911 call reporting that a vehicle occupied by a Hackensack couple and their infant son crashed into a utility pole, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said in a statement released Sunday afternoon.
According to Musella, the baby sustained head trauma in the crash and was later pronounced dead at Hackensack University Medical Center.
The accident remains under investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Hackensack Police Department, Musella said.
The prosecutor did not say if the child’s parents were injured in the crash.
