HACKENSACK, NJ -- Hackensack Performing Arts Center’s popular “PAC The House” series continues this Saturday with Latin Grammy nominee Flor de Toloache.
The all-female mariachi group founded in 2008. Named for the flower used in Mexico as a love potion, the group is comprised of Mireya I. Ramos, violin and vocals; Shae Fiol, vihuela and vocals; Julie Acosta, trumpet; and Eunice Aparicio, guitarron. The group has toured extensively in Europe and India, performing as well in the U.S. at Nashville’s Ryman Theater (Grand Ole Opry), Terminal 5 in New York, and The Vic in Chicago. While working to preserve centuries-old traditions of mariachi, their melange of the traditional and the modern pushes the boundaries of the genre for new audiences. The result of this cultural bouquet is an edgy, versatile, and fresh take on traditional Mexican music.
The two-hour show begins at 8 p.m. For tickets ($40-$80) or more information, visit hacpac.org.
