PARAMUS, NJ -- A Township of Washington woman who served as a primary therapist at a private high school in Paramus faces charges after she allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor at her residence.

According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, 39-year-old Tara Cardinale was arrested on January 10 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal sexual contact following a joint investigation among the Prosecutor’s Office along with the Paramus and Township of Washington police departments which determined she had, on multiple occasions, invited the student to her residence where they engaged in sexual activity. 

The Paramus Police Department received information that on Sunday, December 29, 2019, Cardinale was “engaging in a sexual relationship” with a student under the age of 18. 

Cardinale was remanded to Bergen County Jail and due in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on January 15.
