SPARTA, NJ – A man from Hackensack is facing drunk driving charges after police were called about a person throwing up in the parking lot.  On June 26 around 8:20 p.m. Officer Taylor May went to a parking lot on Woodport Road and found Brian Barraza, 23, vomiting and another man that needed medical attention, police said.

May found the passenger laying across the back seat.  He also saw that Barraza had also littered several beer bottles, both full and empty, on the ground around his red Honda, police said.

When the officer spoke with Barraza he found both men had been drinking.  The man in the back seat was taken to Newton Medical Center and Barazza was taken to Sparta Police Department Headquarters, after performing field sobriety tests, police said.
