Waldwick, NJ – The Forum School, a nonprofit school serving children with disabilities, proudly welcomes Dr. Linda Edwards as the Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction. In her new role, Dr. Edwards will plan and implement professional development for school staff, oversee the placement and supervision of teaching assistants and volunteers, and will coordinate school intakes and visits.

Dr. Edwards knows The Forum School well. Early in her career, from 1981-2004, Edwards worked at The Forum School as a special education teacher, teaching students with autism and related challenges.

“We are beyond thrilled to have Linda on our staff again,” said Brian Detlefsen, Director. “She knows our program well and brings years of school leadership experience and expertise in special education,” he concluded.

A resident of Midland Park, Dr. Edwards holds an impressive array of New Jersey educator certifications including: Teacher of the Handicapped; Elementary Education; Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC); Dyslexia Specialist; Orton Gillingham Teacher-Trainer; Supervisor; Principal; and Superintendent.

She returns to The Forum School after a long career in public schools, having served as Director of Special Service in Glen Rock and Scotch Plains, and before that, as an LDT-C in both Livingston and Mahwah.

The Forum School is offering a New Jersey state-approved nonprofit school serving students with autism and related learning, behavioral, language and social challenges who have not been successful in public school settings.
