It’s been a long and challenging few months, but things are starting to look better!
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy recently announced the stay-at-home order which has been in place since March 21 is now lifted. This was positive news to many residents and businesses as the state begins to enter Stage 2 of a multi-phase re-opening plan.
Now, restaurants can resume outdoor dining and non-essential retailers can invite customers inside – but guidelines issued in executive order 152 must be followed. The order also lifts restrictions on the number of people able to gather at indoor and outdoor events. Murphy signed a separate executive order to open pools and other outdoor recreational businesses effective June 22. As restrictions are lifted, it’s important to remember we can continue to slow the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask when appropriate and frequently washing our hands.
In line with these new developments, we are happy to announce that our branch lobbies are re-opening to offer full banking services We look forward to seeing our customers in person once again but, the health and well-being of our customers and associates remains a top priority. So those customers who feel comfortable going into the branch will notice that we have implemented new measures to ensure everyone stays safe.
Due to social distancing guidelines, only a limited number of customers can be inside at the same time, but we can help you conduct many services at the drive-up and ATM. Keep in mind, most of your banking transactions can be done using online and mobile banking. When the pandemic hit, Lakeland was considered an essential business and remained open, following the guidelines established by the Governor. Our Executive Management Team continues to be amazed and grateful for the support that our associates have been providing to our customers and each other during these unprecedented times.
In the face of an unthinkable adverse event, our team became superheroes in their own right. During the initial wave of branch closures and new hours of operation, our frontline stepped up to navigate a quickly changing customer experience while back office staff made rapid adjustments to work remotely. The swift response by multiple departments to develop and implement a process to successfully continue bank operations in a matter of weeks is just an amazing feat! And as the economic devastation became quickly apparent in the wake of the pandemic, our associates did not miss a beat to do whatever was necessary to support our customers and communities.
