Relay For Life of Glen Rock and Fair Lawn to Host “Bowie:  A Tribute” to Benefit American Cancer Society

Fundraising Concert will Feature Performances by Andy Falco, Tony Trischka, Jill Sobule at Debbonair Hall in Teaneck

The Relay For Life of Glen Rock and Fair Lawn will present a concert to honor the music of David Bowie on the three-year anniversary of the pop icon’s death. The fundraiser will benefit the American Cancer Society; doors are at 6:00 p.m., music at 7:00 p.m. The concert, open to the public, will feature a stellar cast of musicians from various musical genres: pop, jazz, folk, rock, bluegrass and R&B. Advance tickets, which are highly recommended, are $18 in advance and include door prize raffle entry; $25 at the door. Tickets are available online at http://bit.ly/Bowieshow.

Featured artists:

-Andy Falco, front man to The Infamous Stringdusters (2018 Grammy Award winners for Best Bluegrass Album)

-Celebrated banjo player Tony Trischka of Fair Lawn

-Indie folk-rock favorite, singer-songwriter Jill Sobule (“I Kissed a Girl,” “Supermodel”).

Also on the bill are saxophonist Eddie Barbash; Corporate Punk, featuring Sean Trischka and Isa Burke; and jazz pianist Loren Daniels, blues vocalist Valerie Johnson, trumpet player Reggie Pittman and bassist David Wofford, all of Teaneck.

 

The Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society and the world’s largest fundraising event dedicated to fighting cancer; the Glen-Rock-Fair Lawn event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., June 1-2, 2019 at the Glen Rock High School football field at 600 Harristown Road, Glen Rock.
