HACKENSACK, N.J. – The City of Hackensack is on a winning streak.
During Wednesday night's drawing for the Jersey Cash 5 Jackpot, two lucky lottery tickets each worth $234,625 purchased in convenience stores in Hackensack and Paterson matched all five numbers drawn.
The winners split the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot of $469,250.
The winning numbers were: 14, 16, 19, 32 and 38 and the XTRA number was 03. The tickets were sold at the 7-Eleven on Passaic Street in Hackensack and at Krauszer's Food Store on McLean Boulevard in Paterson.
According to a press release from the state, there were 472,790 tickets purchased for the drawing. Adding XTRA for an additional $1 per play afforded winners a chance to multiply their non-jackpot prizes by the XTRA number drawn. After matching four of the five numbers drawn, 59 ticket holders won $717 each, while six others won $2,151 each with the addition of XTRA. For those who matched three of the five numbers drawn, 2,727 ticket holders won $16 apiece and 486 others won $48 each. There were 5,779 ticket holders who won $2 for matching two of five numbers drawn.
Last week, during the December 3 drawing, a winning lottery ticket worth $10,000 was purchased at Budy's Wine & Liquors on Hudson Street in Hackensack. The third-tier prizewinning ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Gold Mega Ball. The winning numbers were 23, 43, 60, 63 and 69. The Gold Mega Ball was 19 and the Megaplier Multiplier was 02.
The Powerball jackpot rolls to $150,000,000. The next drawing will be held Saturday, December 14 at 10:59 p.m.
