HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Bergen County Clerk John S. Hogan has announced that his office, in conjunction with the Bergen County Superintendent of Elections and the Board of Elections, will open extended weekend hours prior to the November 5 General Election to encourage greater voter participation.

The County Clerk’s Elections Division will be open on Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for anyone who wishes to vote-by-mail in person.

“Voting is not an inconvenience. It is our right and privilege,” stated County Clerk Hogan. “If voters find it difficult to get to the polls on Election Day, they have the option to vote-by-mail and vote-by-mail-in-person. It is our intention that these extended hours contribute to increased voter participation.”

Clerk Hogan pointed out that while October 29 is the last day to apply for a vote-by-mail ballot by mail for the General Election, voters still have until Monday, November 4 at 3 p.m. to vote-by-mail in person at the Bergen County Clerk’s Office located at 1 Bergen County Plaza, Hackensack.
