HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Kennedy Street ramps to I-80 eastbound in Hackensack will be temporarily closed beginning tonight at 7 p.m., New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced.
The closure, which will be in effect until Friday, April 10 at 7 a.m., will allow NJDOT’s contractor, D’Annunzio & Sons, to mill and pave the ramps as part of a $15 million federally-funded pavement preservation project designed to improve the service life of the highway in Morris and Bergen Counties.
Detours will be in place to direct motorists to alternative routes. Motorists choosing to take the Kennedy Street eastbound ramp to I-80 eastbound will be directed to take the westbound ramp and to keep right. Drivers will then be directed to take Exit 64B towards Route 17 south/Hasbrouck Heights/Newark and keep left. After turning left onto Polifly Road, they are asked to keep left and take the ramp to I-80 eastbound.
The same detour applies to motorists who wish to take the Kennedy Street westbound ramp to I-80 westbound.
