HACKENSACK, NJ -- Deputy Mayor David Sims and Councilman Leonardo Battaglia joined Hackensack DPW workers early Thursday morning for the removal of the City's 50+ foot tall Holiday Tree, which stood at The Green for over 30 years.

After being inspected by an arborist, it was determined to be a hazard to prepare for Christmas lighting and it needed to be taken down. The process took approximately three hours to complete and a new tree is scheduled to be put up this Monday.
