NORTH JERSEY — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Bergen County beginning at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
The severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 11 p.m. Monday for northeastern New Jersey. Heavy rain and tiny hail are possible.
A flash flood warning has also been issued for parts of the tri-state area including Hudson County, eastern Passaic County, southeastern Bergen County, which includes Hackensack and Paramus, and northeastern Essex County until 7 p.m.
One to two inches of rain is expected. Flooding will result in small creeks and streams, highways, streets and underpasses and drainage areas. Motorists are asked to avoid highways or low-lying areas while on the highway.
