HACKENSACK, N.J. -- City police are seeking the public’s help in their search for a 20-year-old Bethlehem, Pa. man who opened fire into a busy Hackensack Street this past summer and his 22-year-old Hackensack girlfriend who operated the getaway vehicle.

City detectives identified the shooter, Jymir Outcalt, who fired a .45 caliber handgun into a harmless crowd on Newman Street shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19.

Detectives say Outcalt is connected to both the Hackensack and Newark areas and that his girlfriend, Star Johnson, 22, of Hackensack, was behind the wheel of the getaway vehicle, a Toyota Camry that was rented and has since been located.

Warrants have been issued for the arrests of both parties who are considered armed and dangerous.
