HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A city man is facing charges for endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact after an investigation found he had been engaging in lascivious conversations with a juvenile.

Juan Arnoldo Tomas Juarez, a 28-year-old warehouse worker from Hackensack, was arrested Friday, April 24, a day after the Englewood Police Department was tipped off that he had been engaging in sexually explicit online conversations with a girl under 16.

An investigation then commenced between the Englewood Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit.

Juarez was arrested and charged with one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a third degree crime, and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact, a fourth-degree crime.

He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending his first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
