HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A city construction site and an adjacent building were evacuated this morning following the rupture of a gas line, which caused traffic delays.
At around 9:47 a.m., the Hackensack Fire Department responded to the construction site across from 60 2nd Street after a gas line was struck while work was underway. Following the evacuations, PSE&G arrived and had the leak secured in under 30 minutes, Fire Captain Justin Derevyanik said. No one was injured.
Traffic resumed to normal flow following the repair.
