A 52-year-old South Hackensack man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child.
The arrest of Segundo Calle-Calle was made last week by Bergen County Prosecutor's after the Hackensack Police Department received a call earlier this month alleging that Mr. Calle-Calle had engaged in sexual acts with a juvenile under the age of thirteen in South Hackensack.
"Based on that information, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office," said a spokesperson for the BCPO.
Calle-Calle has been charged with two counts of Sexual Assault By Sexual Contact, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2a(1), a crime of the 2nd degree and one count of Endangering The Welfare Of A Child, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4A, a crime of the 2nd degree. He is currently detained in the Bergen County Jail.
Acting Prosecutor Calo states that the charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and would also like to thank the South Hackensack Police Department for its assistance in this investigation.
