TRENTON, NJ -- Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri announced the Tuesday morning arrest of a teacher who was allegedly attempting to solicit underage males online when, if fact, he was communicating with an undercover Mercer County member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit and Special Victims Unit (SVU)

Jesse Rosenbaum65, Manalapan, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop near his home by detectives with the prosecutor’s ICAC unit and SVU. Rosenbaum, a science teacher at Long Branch Middle School, was arrested and charged with one count of third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child. Third-degree crimes carry a sentence of three to five years in state prison and a fine of up to $15,000.

Rosenbaum was the subject of a recent ICAC investigation into the sexual exploitation of children online.  The investigation, which is ongoing, revealed he was soliciting underage males online to participate in sexual acts and also sexual conversation. The Prosecutor's Offices alleges that Rosenbaum engaged in sexually explicit emails, text messages and phone conversations with an individual he believed to be a 14-year-old male.
