EWING, NJ – On Monday evening, members and supporters of the Mercer County Young Democrats will come together for their first annual “Holiday Give Back” to benefit Mercer County's leading anti-homelessness agency -- Homefront.
Donations of diapers, coats, baby goods, and personal hygiene items are being collected to be packaged and distributed to families in need.
“While so many families are able to provide toys and gifts for their children at the holidays, far too many struggle to afford the basic items like clothes, coats and diapers,” said Athina Fassu, Hamilton native and president of Mercer County Young Democrats. “We are proud to partner with Homefront to collect and package items for families with small children so that they can enjoy the holidays with a little bit less of a burden on their shoulders.”
Volunteers are asked to help prepare packages for families on Monday, December 16 between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at Homefront’s Diaper Resource Center located at 101 Celia Way in Ewing Township.
Based in Mercer County, Homefront’s mission is to end homelessness in central New Jersey by “harnessing the caring resources, and expertise in the community.” The agency works with clients to lessen the immediate pain of homelessness and help families become self-sufficient.
